Candy's Alabar

"Luke"

  • Owner: Tim & Penny Woolley
  • Date of Birth: May 31st 1993
  • Breed: Registered Quarterhorse & Paint
  • Job: Pony
If you ask anyone at Fair Hill if they know anything about a horse named "Candy's Alabar," chances are they won't know. But if you ask where to find "Luke," everyone will direct you to a round pen just outside of Parlo I. There you will find a horse of a different kind. Unlike the thoroughbreds that fill 95% of Fair Hill's stalls, Luke is actually registered as both a Quarterhorse and a Paint. He certainly looks like no other horse in the entire complex. His job at Fair Hill is to help teach (or school) young thoroughbreds how to do everything from stand in the gate to load onto a truck. He is very serious about his job and takes everything in stride without an ounce of intimidation. When he isn't working, he's generally outside in his pad supervising or looking out the window of his corner stall. What most people don't know about Luke is the fact that he has a dislike for dogs of any kind. Big or small, they just aren't friends. Although a fan favorite, Luke is in his last year of Pony service and will soon make his way back to the farm.
